Open Carry Should Be Legal In All States

Open carry helps to prevent crime rates and mental people aren’t always the cause of mass shootings. States in USA that allow open carry have a violent crime rate of 23 percent lower, murder rate 5 percent lower, aggravated assault rate 23 percent lower and robbery rates are 36 percent lower than those states that have made it illegal to have open carry. These facts show that open carry is important in keeping rime rates down.  Living in a country where it’s illegal to own a gun without a certain licence and aren’t allowed open carry shows gun control is too strict in some areas. For example the facts stated above if every country were to make open carry legal it could possibly cut down crime rates throughout the world.

Will there be more mass shootings and more murders? Murders still happen in countries with strict gun control because they still manage to get their hands on a gun and go and murder someone. The helpless victim has no way of defending them self because of the open carry laws. Where as in the states that allow open carry have lower crime rates because they are allowed to defend them self’s so therefore the murderer doesn’t take the risk.

The mentally unstable will have easy access to guns and will cause more mass shootings. Huffington Posts study in 2015 says that out of one hundred and twenty thousand gun related killings fewer than 5 percent were committed by mentally unstable people. So even though people who have a mental illness have access to guns in some states with no gun control they aren’t the issue with mass shooting people always just assume oh they have mental illness when most of the time that’s not the case and it’s easy to blame it on the mentally ill but most of the time they are just ignorant.

If all states were to allowed open carry would there be less crime rates?  Well studies show that states with open carry have less crime then non open carry. If guns were allowed in New Zealand It would prevent a lot of crimes. The reason it would prevent a lot of crimes is that in most cases depending on the crime the person committing it usually has a weapon whether it being a gun or knife. Whereas the victim has nothing to help defend themselves so they a pretty much helpless. And in most cases the victims are elderly people or easy targets.  Open carry should it be legalized to help prevent helpless victims?
